Pelican was founded in 1976 by Dave Parker ( Photos Below ) in a garage in Torrance, California. Passionate about diving since the age of 11 years, Parker recognized at the time the need for robust flashlights and hermetically sealed enclosures or without subsidence. He then decided to make the best products of all those then available on the market. Thanks to years of hard work and sacrifice, Pelican ™ Products finally became a reality with the award of its first patent on the product float Pelican Float, followed shortly by the legendary flashlights SabreLite ™ and the Protector ™ Cases .™.

Pelican over the years and its product line grew steadily, and in 2004 the company was bought by a private financial group Behrman Capital. Shortly after it has registered an extraordinary growth trend under the leadership of Lyndon Faulkner, the new chief executive, appointed in 2005. Faulkner, Pelican Products come from a background rich and diverse, coming from Microsoft Corporation, where he held the assignment of activities manager for North America, contributing to the launch of revolutionary products for the sector, such as Xbox®, Windows XP and Microsoft Office 2000. at the time of the world of digital media such as CD ( Compact Disc ) and discs digital video (DVD , digital video Disc ), he also became the IPO the company Technicolor®/Nimbus, pioneer of CD production.
After a period of expansion of the organization, 2008 was an exceptional year, which saw Pelican Products implementing an aggressive growth strategy, highlighted by acquisitions and expansion activities at the international level, such as the opening of new sales offices and plants production worldwide, creating Pelican Australia, the launch of the group Advanced Area Lighting group and exponential growth following the acquisition of Hardigg Industries, the company's main competitor, which led almost overnight to a doubling the size of Pelican, transforming it into the world's leading manufacturer of protective cases for equipment. The Pelican international expansion will continue throughout 2011 with the opening of sales offices in India, South Korea, Turkey, Saudi Arabia and South Africa.
